There's nothing more frustrating than your IPTV buffering mid-match or during your favourite show. The good news is that buffering is almost always fixable. Here are the seven most common causes and how to fix each one.
1. Slow Internet Connection
The most common cause. You need at least 10Mbps for reliable HD streaming and 25Mbps for 4K. Run a speed test at fast.com while your IPTV is buffering. If speeds are below these thresholds, contact your ISP or upgrade your plan.
2. Wi-Fi Interference
Wi-Fi is convenient but unreliable for streaming. If possible, connect your streaming device directly to your router with an ethernet cable. This alone resolves buffering for most users. If you must use Wi-Fi, move closer to your router or use a Wi-Fi extender.
3. Router Quality
Old or budget routers struggle with multiple devices streaming simultaneously. If your router is more than 5 years old, consider upgrading. Also try restarting your router — it can clear congestion and improve speeds immediately.
4. VPN Slowing Your Connection
Using a VPN adds overhead and reduces your effective speed by 20–50%. If you're using a VPN with your IPTV, try disabling it. Our service works globally without a VPN, so there's no need to use one.
5. Server Load at Peak Times
Some IPTV providers cut corners on server capacity. At peak times (evenings, big match days) their servers get overwhelmed. We maintain excess server capacity specifically to prevent this. If you consistently buffer at the same times, your provider's servers may be the problem.
6. App Cache / Memory
IPTV apps can accumulate cache that slows them down. On Firestick: Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → your IPTV app → Clear Cache. Restart the app afterwards.
7. Using an Outdated App Version
IPTV apps release frequent updates that fix streaming issues. Make sure your app is up to date. On Firestick, check the App Store for updates. On Android, check the Play Store.
